Jeffrey Valko President & CEO

Mr. Valko is a co-founder of Reverse Medical Corporation, and serves on the Board of Directors. He was previously a Manager of the MedFocus Management Company, LLC. He brings over 25 years of industry experience in medical device development ranging from early stage start-up to large corporate (Johnson & Johnson, Baxter Healthcare) environments, including a several year Southeast Asia expatriate role. Mr. Valko has an extensive background of leadership in Research and Development, Product Development, Business Development and early stage start-up value building. He has also sponsored/lead large US multi-center randomized clinical trials and numerous pre-clinical studies. Mr. Valko has also served as Chief Operating Officer for a next generation non-polymer drug eluting stent technology and a trans-vascular aortic heart valve technology, both acquired by large multi-national corporations. He has represented several MedFocus portfolio companies in roles including interim CEO, Director, Secretary and Treasurer. Mr. Valko serves on the Board of Directors of several medical device companies. Mr. Valko holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and a Healthcare Masters in Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine.

Brian Strauss Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Strauss joined Reverse Medical as its first employee in February 2008, and initially served as Vice President of Research and Development. He has worked in the medical device industry for over twenty years in various engineering and operations roles, both at start-ups and established companies. Mr. Strauss has an established record of bringing therapeutic concepts to commercial viability. Most recently, he was Senior Director of Research & Development / Intellectual Property at Micro Therapeutics / ev3 Neurovascular, Inc. (recently acquired by Covidien). During his tenure at ev3, he was responsible for the design, development, and project management of many neurovascular access, delivery, and embolization systems, with notable achievements of CE Mark for the Onyx liquid embolic device for arteriovenous malformation treatment, due diligence acquisition team member and integration leader of the Dendron GmbH Sapphire embolic coil and Solitaire device, as well as the lead inventor of the Axium embolization system for intracranial aneurysms. Mr. Strauss holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Masters in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach.

Linda D'Abate Acting VP, RA/CA/QA

Ms. D'Abate has more than 20 years of experience in the medical device industry, with significant contributions and accomplishments in the field of cardiovascular intervention. She has previously worked as Vice President of Regulatory and Clinical Affairs for such companies as Rubicon Medical, TherOx, Inc., Micro Therapeutics, Inc., and Pilot Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. Ms. D'Abate has provided independent consulting on clinical and regulatory affairs for many clients working with new technology devices with particular emphasis on significant risk (Class II and Class III) devices. She has excellent working knowledge of FDA and international pre-market acceptance applications and processes and has taken products from the concept stage through design validation, clinical trials, and eventual product approval. Ms. D'Abate has extensive experience in protocol development for critical device studies, as well as responsibility for preparation and implementation and approval of Investigational Device Exemptions Applications, 510(k)s and PMAs. She has also interfaced and worked with the FDA on conflict resolution, pre-IDE Meetings, protocol development, and postmarket studies. She has both State Board Certification and National Board Certification in Radiologic Technology.

Lynn Shimada VP, Engineering

Ms. Shimada brings over 20 years of experience in medical device research and development. Previously, she was Vice President of Research and Development at Alsius Corporation, focused on the development of a novel line of intravascular temperature management catheters for use in the Neuro ICU and surgical applications. Ms. Shimada has held research and development management positions at Cardiovascular Dynamics, Advanced Interventional Systems and Baxter Healthcare Corporation. She has a Bachelor of Science in General Engineering from Harvey Mudd College and a Masters of Science in Applied Mechanics Bioengineering from University of California, San Diego.
